This situation looks for my as drawn here:

Your code seems to throw a NullPointerException in step (3).
The xmlBlaster behaves in this case as expected.
Please check the stack trace in the log file of 'jaguar/-4'
where the NullPointer happens.

The other error (no meat found) i'll evaluate later,
