I tried to reproduce the error but I could not get the behaviour. You say the publisher had always the same public sessionId. Where they running simultaneously ? Note that having several instances of the same sessions (you get this by specifying the same public sessionId on several instances of the client) leads to unpredictable results (see the client.failsafe requirement on that).

Another question is the abnormal termination of the subscriber: did you deliberately terminate them or did you get an error ? If you got an error, what was the error ?

I tried with a CTRL-C both before and after subscribing but nothing strange happened.

The following error has occured when I was trying to publish a message. Basically, I was running HelloWorldPublish with the persistent mode on and the same session ID on every connection. After being abnormally terminated several times, the subscriber was up and running.
